Los Angeles Community Reinvestment Committee is a Community Development Financial Institution that has provided two AFI grants since 2006 with the objective of providing low-cost financial services and alternative banking products to unbanked and underserved residents in Los Angeles County.
Los Angeles Community Reinvestment emphasizes homeownership, postsecondary education, and business capitalization with the goal of integrating financial education with savings and the appropriate tools to help 270 low-income residents build and manage assets. Los Angeles Community Reinvestment partners with Los Angeles Family Source Centers, 1736 Family Crisis Center, Watts Labor Community Action Committee, Children’s Bureau, LA County Dept. of Public Social Services, East Los Angeles Community Corporation, Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles, Public Counsel, St. Joseph’s Center, Korean Youth Community Center, Los Angeles Metropolitan Churches, Magnolia Place, Pathways, and Los Angeles Trade Tech College to provide assistance with outreach.
