MesaCAN is a nonprofit organization that has provided six AFI grants since 2001, with the goal of serving or facilitating services for economically disadvantaged individuals and families, and helping clients devise strategies for increased self-sufficiency and reduced reliance on government services.

Partners
MesaCAN partners with El Nido Family Centers, Greater Bethany Economic Development Corporation, Newtown Community Development Corporation, Community Land Trust, Neighborhood Economic Development Corporation, Arizona Community Foundation, United Way organizations, and Housing Authority of Los Angeles, which recruit participants and provide asset-specific training.
