Earned Assets Resource Network (EARN) is a nonprofit agency that has provided six AFI grants since 2003, with the goals of moving San Francisco’s working poor up the economic ladder and into the financial mainstream through asset building, modeling innovative asset-building practices that can be replicated nationally, and driving creation of high-quality asset-building policy in California. EARN has been successful in opening individual development accounts, purchasing asset goals, expanding their target group and the size of their program, and providing financial education classes.
EARN emphasizes homeownership, higher education and small business development, with the goals of providing financial management training and IDAs to working-poor residents in the San Francisco Bay Area in partnership with other community organizations and local governments.
Partners
EARN partners with Prosperity Partners, Renaissance Entrepreneurship Center/Bayview Business Resource Center, COPE Family Center, Marin County Development Corporation, Chinese Newcomers Service Center, Juma Ventures, Women's Initiative for Self Employment, and Low-Income Families Empowerment Through Education to provide asset-specific training, financial education, and operational support.
