Nine New Presentations on Financial Education Topics Available at IDAresources.orgThe financial education section of the IDAresources.org provides guidance and tools to help AFI grantees enhance the financial education component of their programs. In addition to toolkits, example activities, and primers on key topics in financial education, the financial education section offers nine Presentations on Financial Education Topics. The presentations are designed both for those who manage AFI financial education programs or work directly with AFI participants to build their financial knowledge. The presentations last about 20 minutes, and include in-depth discussions of financial education topics delivered by AFI resource Center experts. Several of the presentations cover key topics that provide a foundation for financial education, including credit reports and credit scores, saving and investing, and budgeting. Through these presentations, AFI grantees can expand their own knowledge of financial education topics, and enhance their ability to easily convey complex information to AFI participants. Additional presentations cover topics such as green strategies for reducing home energy costs, and how AFI participants can use online tools and resources to manage their finances. To assist AFI grantees with training assessment, two presentations focus on the AFI Core Competencies for Financial Education and the AFI Financial Education Assessment Tool. These presentations guide AFI grantees to begin thinking about the key skills that AFI participants should develop in core content areas, and explain how assessments can document AFI participants’ progress in financial education programs. To access the presentations, along with helpful tools, worksheets, and online resources that supplement each presentation, visit the Financial Education section of the AFI Resource Center website and scroll down to “Presentations on Financial Education Topics.”
