Over 30 AFI Grantees and Subgrantees Awarded $1.8 Million in VITA Funds
Congratulations to the over 32 AFI grantees and subgrantees that were awarded Internal Revenue Service (IRS) 2010 Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) funds to provide free tax preparation during the 2012 tax season. The IRS VITA Program uses trained volunteers to prepare basic tax returns for low-income taxpayers in both urban and rural locations, including persons with disabilities, non-English speaking persons, elderly taxpayers and Native Americans.
