Applicant Webinar Series - Spring 2013

Ready to start your next AFI grant application? Check out the webinar series the AFI Resource Center will host for prospective 2013 applicants. The webinars will cover the basics of planning, applying, and developing resources for an AFI project.

Current grantees will be most interested in Webinars 2 and 3; first-time applicants will want to start with Webinar 1.

Prospective Grantee Webinar 1: Planning an AFI Project

This webinar introduces asset building, Individual Development Accounts (IDAs), and the Assets for Independence (AFI) program. It explains how an agency can assess its capacity to operate an AFI project, and reviews considerations for designing a successful project, including target population, allowable uses of funds, match rates, and network projects.

Prospective Grantee Webinar 2: Preparing a Successful Application

This purpose of this webinar is to walk attendees through the AFI funding announcement and the grant application process. It is expected that attendees will have attended “Prospective Grantee Webinar 1: Planning an AFI Project” and have a basic understanding of the AFI Program and IDAs.

Prospective Grantee Webinar 3: Developing Resources and Partners

This webinar will introduce sources and strategies for developing resources—especially non-federal matching funds—and partnerships that can reduce the cost of implementing a project. It is expected that attendees will have attended “Prospective Grantee Webinar 1: Planning an AFI Project” and have a basic understanding of AFI and IDAs.
