As AFI grantees implement the program's innovative strategy to build wealth in their communities, they are also taking part in a national evaluation of that strategy. After all, AFI is more than a Federal program—it is an experiment that lawmakers and other leaders are looking to as they measure the effectiveness of Federal asset-building programs.
The reports AFI grantees submit to the Office of Community Services (OCS) and Office of Grants Management (OGM) are the substance of the ongoing AFI evaluation—and have a real impact on Federal policy in the area. It is critical for all AFI grantees to submit accurate reports in a timely manner, both for the stability of their own projects and development of an ambitious national agenda.
There are three main reports that grantees must submit throughout their project periods: the Data Report, Financial Status Report (SF 425), and Narrative Program Progress Report. Data Reports are due each year; the deadlines for the financial and narrative reports (also called Grant Reports) vary.
