Up and Coming Research and Products to Aid Asset Building

The Social Security Administration recently announced the Financial Literacy Research Consortium (FLRC), comprised of researchers at Boston College, the RAND Corporation, and the University of Wisconsin. The FLRC will develop innovative financial literacy products to educate low-income individuals of varying ages. Products will focus on how to save and plan for retirement.

As the FLRC products become available we will highlight resources that could be useful for those working in the asset building field.

In announcing the FLRC’s creation Michael J. Astrue, Commissioner of Social Security, stated, “We look forward to building a strong partnership with the FLRC as well as with other federal agencies with similar missions. In these challenging economic times, this partnership will help Americans to solidify their financial future.”
